God Did: The Story
Two words. A whole testimony.
You hear it after the job came through, after the scan came back clean, after the rent got paid with nothing left over. Not "I did." Not "luck did." God did. It is the shortest testimony there is, and maybe the most honest one.
Joseph's version
Joseph was seventeen when his own brothers threw him in a pit and sold him to traders headed for Egypt. He became a slave. He was falsely accused and thrown in prison, then forgotten there by the one man who promised to remember him. Years went by. Then, in one day, Pharaoh raised him from the prison to second in command over all of Egypt. When famine hit, the food Joseph stored kept a nation alive, including the brothers who sold him.
What was meant for evil
After their father died, the brothers were afraid Joseph would finally pay them back. He did not. He told them the line this whole collection is built on. You meant it for evil. God meant it for good. Every pit, every lie, every year in that cell was part of the road. That is what "God did" means. It does not pretend the hard part never happened. It just refuses to give the hard part the last word.
Give credit where it is due
Scripture is full of people saying it out loud. "This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes" (Psalm 118:23). "The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad" (Psalm 126:3). Saying it is gratitude, and it is witness. Somebody hears you say it and starts wondering what He could do for them.
The pieces
